A Softer And Easier HTML Tutorial
If you're new to the web, still a bit confused, want to learn HTML, but somewhat frightened by the prospect...
You're in the right place.
I wrote this HTML tutorial because I found it so hard to find an easy to understand tutorial online.
When I got my first look at HTML coding, it all looked so complicated and foreign to me that I doubted it was something that I could learn to do myself. The first html tutorials that I tried assumed that you had some familiarity with computer terminology, etc. I was lost.
I needed to start from square one, but nobody could tell me where square one was located.
How It Works
HTML 4 Rookies is a very simple introduction to HTML. By no means will you learn everything that there is to know about HTML at this website. But this will get you started, and in the last lesson, I'll point you in the direction of some additional resources, and places to enhance you education.
This HTML Tutorial works best if you study a lesson, then practice what you've learned before coming back for the next. Practice is 90% of learning web design. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. You'll learn more from troubleshooting and correcting your own goofs, then you will from reading every HTML tutorial on the web.
As of today, you won't have to leave the HTML 4 Rookies web site to practice. At the end of each lesson you'll see a white box like this one:
Click on the box, and you'll be taken to the Lab, where you can practice, practice, practice.
Work at your own pace, and above all, HAVE FUN!
If you find that learning HTML isn't very much fun, then you're probably not doing it right!
